Announcements
Good morning skiers and riders; and welcome to Crested Butte Mountain Resort Prater Cup racers, coaches, family and friends! (For a complete schedule of Prater Cup events, with the Welcome Orientation starting things off at 4:00 pm today, go to www.skicb.com/prater.) Today is Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 and it's looking like a great start to a weekend of racing, as well as some powderific fun! There is a good chance for snow for today and tomorrow, with temperatures reaching the lower 20's. On Saturday, the clouds are expected to open up, as Colorado's infamous sun will shine brightly, while temperatures will soar to the mid 30's-perfect weather for all!

Thanks to the 7 inches of snow that have fallen in the last week, 2 of which came down in the past 48 hours, the soft and fluffy 47 inch base is skiing and riding perfectly! Take your pick on any of the 14 lifts that will begin spinning at 9:00 am this morning, leading you to the almost 100 slopes that are open, 76 of which have been groomed to perfection by the heedful groomers, who have recommended Paradise Bowl as their groomer's choice for the day. But that's not all that's shreddable, as the park crew has created jumps, bumps and rails on three terrain parks located throughout the mountain; the Cascade Terrain Park, located under the Gold Link Lift, has southwestern Colorado's only super pipe sure to challenge any level of jibber. The options are endless on this last Thursday in February, as 98% of the mountain is open, including 100% of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain, as well as 60% of the extremes.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort has more than just delicious skiing and riding. This year on March 17th and 18th, bring your friends and family, as well as your dancing shoes, and enjoy the sounds of Barenaked Ladies, Guster and Big Head Todd and the Monsters for Crested Butte Mountain Resort's annual FestEVOL concert series. This is a weekend that simply cannot be missed; so don't wait and book your tickets today on www.skicb.com/festevol.

And while you're online booking those tickets, keep on clicking for the phenomenal lodging deals going on for FestEVOL's outstanding weekend. Right now, you can get lodging, skiing and concert tickets for as low as $157 per person, per night. Hey, if you don't believe me, check online at www.skicb.com/festevol or call the friendly folks at Crested Butte Vacations at 1.800.810.7669.

Happy Thursday, skiers and riders! Make it a great one!
