OVER a FOOT of fresh pow is on the way to Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Break out those dancing shoes and shake a leg to welcome this next system that is scheduled to move in tomorrow afternoon and could potentially drop 14 inches of sweet powder on our hill by Sunday night! Today, Friday, January 29, 2016 we’ll have amazing views in all directions from any one of the 15 lifts currently spinning their wheels to serve up 1,051 thrilling acres of terrain. All skill levels will find challenge and excitement as we now have 94% of our diverse mountain open for carving with 100% of the beginner, intermediate as well as advance terrain available and, with the opening of Phoenix/Spellbound, Banana and Funnel, there is now 91% of the extreme territory that is ready to be ripped up! Our professional grooming staff have been hard at work overnight to bring you 300 amazingly groomed acres and have issued word that Lower Forest Queen is the place to be for unbeatable groomed turns on the hill today!

Alright all you adrenaline junkies, bust out those beacons and head to the North Face Lift for the opening of Phoenix/Spellbound! The Beacon Line will be in effect for the first 50 people and Ski Patrol will be present at the access points during opening. All the trails opening are Spellbound, Spellbound Glades, Phoenix Steps, Phoenix Bowl, Highlife, Phoenix Chutes, Phoenix Last Steep, Fredo’s, Never Never Land. Plus, for an added bonus, Banana and Funnel will open sometime today on the front side.

Join us for après at the Butte 66 at the base of the Red Lady Lift for live music, drinks and food!  Live music in an intimate setting featuring local talent - this is where you'll want to be every other Friday afternoon this winter! Today Scotty Leith is jamming out. 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
