There’s a chance of snow in the air, so grab the gear and head for the hill today, Saturday, March 12, 2016. Crested Butte Mountain Resort has 15 lifts that all cranking their wheels to serve up 118 fun filled trails, 54 of which have been smoothed out to Colorado’s Best Corduroy and all of which are covered in a 53 inch base. The carving opportunities await on 100% of the beginner, intermediate as well as advance terrain currently open, and if you have some dare devil types in your crew, 96% of the extreme territory is offered up and sure to please. Word from the grooming shack is Lower Ruby Chief is the place to be for the best groomed turns on the hill.

IFSA Junior Nationals Freeskiing Competition will be happening this weekend on the extremes! Today the competition will be on Hawks Nest . So it will be closed to the public. Head to the top of Easy Out to cheer on these groms! Join us for après at the Butte 66 at the base of the Red Lady Lift for live music, drinks and food! Live music in an intimate setting featuring local talent - this is where you'll want to be every Friday afternoon this winter! Today local artist, Chuck Grossman is jamming out. 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Tonight is another Sunset Soiree at the Umbrella Bar At Ten Peaks. Enjoy the longer days and the beautiful views from the new Umbrella Bar At Ten Peaks! Our Sunset Soirees are happening Thursdays - Saturdays March 10 - 19. Take a self-guided thirty to forty five minute skin or snowshoe tour to the top of Ten Peaks and delight in a delicious buffet dinner under the sunset, including Braunschweiger, Seasonal Fruit and Cheese Display, Spinach Salad, Barley Salad, Chili Rojo & Quinoa Chicken Soup, Authentic Bavarian Sausages, Grilled Pineapple, Mixed Mountain Berries with Montanya Rum Anglaise, and one complimentary beverage. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. Event tickets are for sale at the Adventure Center in advance for $35. The food is available from 5—7 p.m. Snowshoes and AT gear are available for rent for an additional price at the Crested Butte Rental and Demo Center.
