It is a superb Saturday to be at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! We have even more terrain opening today with Prospect lift warming up its wheels for the season and East River lift on line for tomorrow! This is the one and only Powder Hound barking it out as I get it in on December 22, 2012. We have another blue bird day in store with a high of 34*F, providing perfect conditions to catch a ride on all 10 lifts that are now cranking their wheels to serve up over 70% of the sweet soft, terrain that is now accessible. That’s 64 ripping trails, 39 of which are groomed, opened, and ready for your enjoyment. Our base is currently measuring in at 36 inches and will only increase as another storm approaches for what we hope will be a White Christmas! Don’t forget to make a few passes on Paradise Bowl. Groomers gave it their choice award on this fine day. Vote today! Join us for Mt Crested Butte’s 3rd annual Gingerbread House Competition and vote for your favorite from 10am – 5pm. There will be four categories consisting of Adults, Teens, Kids only, and a Restaurant Division. Judging criteria is based on overall appearance, originality, difficulty in design, and holiday spirit! All creations will be on display through January 2, but the voting ends today. So take the family over to the Elevation Hotel lower level to check out these creative works of art and don’t forget to cast your vote!
